Our Picks for 10/21 – 10/29

This article originally appeared in The Source Weekly on October 21, 2009

Ever wonder what would happen if you took the Decemberists, made them into a ten piece and forced them to listen exclusively to the teenage-focused pop of the early 1960s? Well, you just might get the Jail Weddings, a Los Angeles-based collective that is as retro as it is bizarrely awesome. Whenever a band has an all female crew of backup singers, they’re worth paying attention to. The Jail Wedding’s sound is alluring, for sure, but the challenge will be to see if they can all fit on the Silver Moon “stage.” $5. 7pm. Silver Moon Brewing Co., 24 NW Greenwood Ave.
